Planning a Trip to Oman
For travelers from Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan: how to choose an itinerary, plan your arrival and organize a stay with the OldOman team in Muscat.
OldOman travel planning guide. Updated: 09.09.2026.
Oman tours with Russian-speaking support
OldOman arranges private tours, excursions, hotel bookings, car rental and transfers in the Sultanate of Oman. You can organize an entire trip or book individual services: an airport pickup, a guided day in Muscat, a journey to Nizwa and the mountains, or a stay in Salalah. Itinerary planning and travel arrangements are available in Russian.
Your arrival airport, children’s ages, preferred pace and interests matter as much as your travel dates. Muscat and Salalah are in different parts of the country. Northern Oman and Dhofar require different travel arrangements, so choose the region and itinerary before confirming hotels and transfers.
Prepare according to your citizenship
Entry rules depend on nationality, passport type, purpose and duration of the visit, rather than the departure city alone. Before paying for flights, check the conditions for every traveler, including children. Prepare your passport, accommodation confirmation, return or onward ticket and insurance; confirm the final requirements with official sources and your airline.
Traveling to Oman from Russia
Include your departure city, arrival airport and full local arrival time when contacting us. Whether departing from Moscow or another Russian city, this helps coordinate your pickup, early check-in and first excursion. Check entry conditions under the current Russia-Oman agreement: rules for Russian citizens may differ from the general short-stay tourist scheme.
Official references: the Russian Foreign Ministry announcement on mutual visa exemption and the Royal Oman Police visa portal. Agree payment arrangements with OldOman, including the possibility of paying in rubles, before confirming a booking.
Traveling to Oman from Kazakhstan
For departures from Almaty, Astana or another city, share your selected flight and any connection. Your Oman itinerary starts from your actual arrival time: after a late flight, consider resting at the hotel before beginning an active program. Where a group includes different nationalities, entry conditions need to be checked separately.
Check the applicable length of stay using the Oman Foreign Ministry entry guidance and information from the Omani Embassy in Astana. Official pages may describe different entry arrangements; confirm the appropriate option for a longer trip through the visa portal or consulate before booking.
Traveling to Oman from Uzbekistan
Before arranging a flight from Tashkent or another city, decide whether you prefer Muscat, the mountains, the desert or Salalah’s coast. Share the nationality and passport type of every guest. Families should include children’s ages and dietary preferences so that room selection and stops along the route can be planned appropriately.
Check the conditions for Uzbekistan in the Oman Foreign Ministry list and on the eVisa portal. Consular contacts are published by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Oman. Permission for a short tourist visit does not authorize employment or long-term residence.
Choose your Oman itinerary
- Muscat and northern Oman. The capital, Nizwa’s forts, mountain scenery and the desert offer contrasting experiences. Compare our Oman tours and guided excursions.
- A beach stay with day trips. Choose an Oman hotel and add guided days, alternating time by the sea with cultural and outdoor experiences.
- Salalah and Dhofar. Southern Oman has its own routes and seasonal character. Waterfalls and sea conditions depend on the time of year; discuss a Salalah program in our tour collection.
- A short stopover or cruise visit. Choose an Oman excursion with a return time agreed in advance for your airport, port or hotel.
When to travel and what to consider
Cooler months suit walking, mountain journeys and desert stays. Southern Dhofar is also attractive during khareef, when the monsoon changes the scenery and weather. The official Experience Oman tourism portal places khareef approximately from mid-June through September. Check conditions in the specific region when choosing activities.
Confirm clothing requirements before visiting mosques and traditional neighborhoods. Wadis and active outings require suitable footwear, readiness for walking and attention to local conditions. Avoid combining every destination into one day: longer drives leave less time to enjoy each place.
How booking works
- Share your dates, nationalities, number of adults and children, arrival city, budget and hotel preferences.
- Agree the itinerary, room category, meals, transport and guiding. Check exactly which services the quote includes.
- Before payment, confirm currency, confirmation times, cancellation and rescheduling conditions. Request the booking terms in a language you understand.
- Keep your hotel confirmation, itinerary and meeting contact. Individual journeys can be arranged through our Oman transfer service.
Questions before your trip
Can I book an excursion if my hotel is already arranged?
Yes. Share the hotel name, dates and preferred program so we can agree the meeting point and return time.
Can guests from three countries travel together?
Yes, they can share one itinerary. Flights, documents and entry requirements still need to be checked individually.
Are flights included in the tour price?
Inclusions depend on the specific proposal. Do not assume flights are included: check the agreed quote before payment.
How can I get an exact price?
Send your dates, group details and preferred travel style. The final price depends on the itinerary, hotels, room category, transport and confirmed availability.
