Sergiev Posad and Pereslavl-Zalessky
The Lavra, monastery architecture, a calm transfer and the first encounter with northeastern Russian history.
Day 3
Rostov Veliky
Rostov Kremlin, Lake Nero, white walls, domes and the intimate atmosphere of the old town.
Day 4
Yaroslavl
The Volga and Kotorosl confluence, historic center, churches and an embankment walk.
Day 5
Kostroma or Plyos
A route through Volga towns: merchant architecture, crafts, river panoramas and a quiet provincial rhythm.
Day 6
Suzdal
The main visual accent of the route: wooden architecture, monasteries, a kremlin, green meadows and traditional Russian design.
Day 7
Vladimir and Return to Moscow
